Development Project Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Development Manager to join our team in Auckland. As the Development Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, design, and execution of our development projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of developers, ensuring that they are motivated, engaged, and productive.
• Define project scopes, timelines, and budgets.
• Develop and implement project plans and schedules.
• Conduct risk assessments and manage project risks.
• Ensure that development projects meet quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements.
• Communicate project status to senior management and stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain relationships with external vendors and partners.
• Manage the delivery of multiple projects simultaneously.
• Manage projects related to data science and analytics, from conception to completion.
• Develop and maintain project documentation.
• Analyze and interpret large and complex data sets, using statistical methods and machine learning techniques.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, product managers, and business analysts.
• Continuously evaluate and improve our data science processes and methodologies. Travel may be required for client meetings and conferences.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or higher degree in a relevant field such as System Analysis, Data Science, or Computer Science. 2+ years of experience in software development, including experience managing projects.
• A demonstrable background in the use of specialist data mining and analytics software (R based, Python, SQL, or similar) with experience quantifying the benefits of advanced analytics.
• Experience with machine learning algorithms, such as regression, clustering, and neural networks.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Strong project management skills, including experience with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
• Experience with Figma or Sketch would be an advantage.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C#.
• Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices such as continuous integration and delivery.
• Understanding of database technologies and data modeling.
• Familiarity with web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, and front-end frameworks like React or Angular.
• Familiarity with software development tools such as Git, Jenkins, or Docker.
• Experience with data cleaning, preprocessing, and feature engineering techniques.
